Edgerton student featured in 'Scarlet & Gray Girls' calendar
COLUMBUS-An area college student is being featured in a calendar of Ohio State University students that was unveiled this week. Erin Walker, a 19 year old sophomore at Ohio State University, is Miss January in the Year 2000 edition of the "Scarlet & Gray Girls' Calendar.
The calendar, which is distributed statewide in Ohio, was photographed by photographer Sean Ashbrook around the Ohio State University campus this past May.
It features "school spirit" type photographs targeted toward fans of OSU. Included is Ashbrook's version of OSU baseball and football players, a cheerleader, a Block "O" participant and the calendar's version of "The Best Damn Band in The Land."
Erin is featured wearing a gray and red plaid bikini in the OSU Softball Bleachers. Erin graduated from Edgerton High School in 1998, where she was a Varsitv Cheerleader.
She is the daughter of Jim & Kim Walker of Edgerton. She was also the 1994 "Miss Edgerton."
Producers located students for the calendar in an unusual manner: They stopped them in person in the campus area.
Erin was "discovered" while walking on campus last Spring by calendar producers who asked her to try out
Locating attractive students is easy. A pleasant personality is just as important to calendar producers, since students who will appear in the calendars participate in promotional events and media interviews. Often times the students who are willing to listen for a few minutes when first approached are the kind of pleasant people sought for campus wide fame.
