Cambridge Ohio Girl Appears in Pinup calendar
Local gal featured in OSU calendar
Columbus - A Cambridge student is currently being featured in a successful calendar of The Ohio State University students.
Kendra Choma, a senior at OSU, is "Ms. Fall Ô92" in the 1993 "Women of the Scarlet and Gray" calendar, which is distributed statewide in Ohio.
Sean Ashbrook, 25, publisher of the calendar said, "The style of the calendar is something we have never done before. We made sure that each month featured a photograph that would make Buckeye fans go crazy. The effect is awesome."
The calendar was photographed in and around The Ohio State University this past summer and features "school spirit" type photographs. Kendra is pictured surrounded by placards in Ohio Stadium. "We call her the block-O girl," Ashbrook said.
The calendar has gained much notoriety since it was first published by Ashbrook in 1987. Ashbrook was a sophomore at OSU at the time. The school's newspaper last year dubbed it "immensely popular."
Kendra, who graduated from Cambridge High School in 1989, is the daughter of Kenneth and Beverly Choma, Cambridge.
She was "discovered" by a friend who knew Ashbrook.
Copies of the $8.95 calendar may be obtained at bookstores throughout Ohio. Cambridge residents may obtain a copy directly from Kendra's parents by calling 432-6160.
